Privacy policy

We keep data processing on this site deliberately small: no cookies, no tracking, no third-party services. This is exactly what happens. The German version of this policy is legally binding.

2. Hosting

This site runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in Germany. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner. No data is transferred to countries outside the EU.

3. Visiting the site

To answer your request, the server processes technically necessary data: your IP address, date and time, the requested address and your browser identification. This information is not stored in log files. Your IP address is used only briefly in memory to protect the site against abuse (limiting too many requests in a short time) and is then discarded.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Visit counting

We count how many people visit the site, which language they use, which link they came from (if the link contains a source such as ?von=instagram) and which buttons are clicked. So that each visitor is counted only once per day, the server creates a checksum from the IP address, browser identification and a random value that changes daily. It is kept only in memory and deleted at midnight at the latest. Only daily totals are stored, which cannot identify anyone.

Nothing is stored on your device for this – no cookies, no local storage. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in assessing demand for our service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Waitlist

When you join the waitlist, we store your email address, your optional answers (wedding month, number of guests, interests, favourite design, price feedback, note), the page language, the source (if contained in the link) and the time and wording of your consent.

We use this data to email you when Gästelinse launches and to shape the service around your wishes. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future; a short email to abmelden@gaestelinse.de is enough. All answers are optional, but without an email address we cannot notify you.

We delete your data when you withdraw consent, when the project ends, and at the latest two years after you joined.

6. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed for that purpose.

7. Fonts and third-party content

All fonts are served from our own server. No content, scripts or fonts from other providers are embedded.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)).

9. No automated decisions

We do not make automated decisions or create profiles.
